Extra Services, Entertainment, Equipment & Rentals:  
Detailed expertise or general help? We got it!

* Pricing is a typical starting point based in Halifax (and surrounding) and SUBJECT TO TRAVEL.  Some services fluxuate based on date demand and who is available. 

     • Perimeter Up-Lighting & Special FX.  Light up the entire perimeter of your event room (not for band) with floor to ceiling lighting to create colourful moods or static white light and create creative splashes with Special FX lights.
     • Backdrop curtains for stages & presentation.
     • Media – Videographers to professionally Record & Edit your event in HD Video, please inquire. Projectors (ex. power point). Wireless mics, great for MCs. Conferencing Microphones/PA and audio and or video recordings for documenting meetings.
     • Additional entertainment – A single musician, small duo or trio, comedian, magician during or DJ day or evening.
     • For Cocktails, Entrances, Ceremonies & Dinner: A fiddle, piano, acoustic guitarist, bag piper or violin quartet are classic details during cocktails, seating, walking down the aisle, Justice of the peace, exiting of the ceremony, between ceremony ands during dinner. A single musician to perform or a violin quartet for example.

     • Add Fiddler or Keyboard player ($400 +) to Merimac for a 5 piece band or both 6 piece for a MeriMAX experience!  ($775+).

    • Reception Music -For Cocktails, Entrances, Ceremonies & Live dinner music.  
-Fiddle or Violin, Piano, Bag Pipes, acoustic guitarist or violin quartet are classic details during cocktails, seating, walking down the aisle, exiting ceremonies, between ceremony ands during dinner.  For a single musician: $150-$300 (1hr). $275-$500 (2hr). 
-Discounts are available for extra time depending on date demand, time spread of day. Also if you hire a Merimac player for the evening, typically allows a discounted rate for these day time extras. 

    • Opening act or entertain your clan the day before or after.  Think Kitchen Party or the day before/after house patio party!  Or a variety of background Maritime music and classic pub favs for welcoming delegates on day 1 or 3 of your international convention week!  Select from a variety of great Maritime musicians & performers.
-Additional entertainment can be a Single Musician, Small duo or trio (Any combination of instruments and or vocals), comedian, magician or DJ day or evening.  $ Varies significantly, typically $250-$600 per musician/performer includes sound equipment, lighting, etc (usually much smaller for these events). 
-If Merimac is already performing for your main event, we can often offer a discounted rate on smaller version of our band (aka MINImac - 3 piece or MICROmac - 2 piece) and or provide less less production.
  
 • Bag Piper dressed in traditional uniform adds an exciting traditional dimension! Add a strong Maritime presence & “zing” when your guests arrive on site or throughout the day & evening.
-A 15 second Bag Piper blast as announcers and speakers walk up to podium and for signaling conference changeovers, dinner etc. When present the Bag piper(s) can “open” Merimac and play along for the first few songs.

    • Highland Dance Group.  Highland dancers (1-8) with 1 or more Pipers, Marching drum(s).  Stand alone or incorporated with the Merimac show! $ Contact to inquire.

  • DJs.  Looking for something more laid back or a rave party?  A wide variety of DJs to offer and we really do take our time to offer the best DJ for your demographic.  Playing live throughout the Maritimes and Canada has met us many a DJ!
-Video DJing.  Add
-When hiring Merimac our Automated DJ (used on our band breaks) is typically included free of charge which let's you pick some requests and has some customization.
-For $150-$500 we can include a dedicated DJ which plugs into our premium sound system (saving lots of time and $ for everyone).  Some DJs bring more special FX lighting

  • Projector & Screen & Computer kit AND Creating Multimedia/ PowerPoint presentation.
-Projector $85 VGA input. 
-Screen $80 (Large, aprx 11' X 9'). 
-PC Laptop with VGA out $50. 
-Rent all $200.
-If renting all 3, we include Setup/Tear down for $260 (Package).
-Or if already hiring our A/V Media & Sound Technician, Setup/Tear down is free!  He will also be there to operate media presentations (among many other important duties)!
-Multimedia & Powerpoint Content.  Use one of Compact Audio's experts to create or help create your presentation.  You can share or upload any photo, video, word docs, MP3s & ideas you already have and we can mend a well crafted presentation you and your audience will love!  Usually base rate of $225 covers 2.5hours of creative & rendering (usually sufficient for small wedding presentations).  Extra hours at $65 p/h.  Ultra complex media presentations 8 hour special $465.

    • Perimeter Up-Lighting & Special FX.

-Gobo lighting with stand - your custom icon/subject projected on a wall, ceiling, dance floor or light curtains. Awesome for wedding names, company names, slogans, conference or fundraising message.
-Spot light for Speaker(s) or anything else that requires attention.
-Classic Mirror Ball - large or small with stand for pin light. (Must have location to hang Mirror Ball or bring extra stand) $100. $30 for each extra pin light/stand.

-Want the coolest Robotic lights technology has to offer?  We typically include all the basic lighting and some pretty cool FX lights with our base rate which is quite cool.  However the world is your oyster if you want Robotic Lighting, Disco Ball, Fog Machine, Impact Strobe lights, Uplighting, etc, we have it all!

     • Live Large Video Screen.  Make larger than life.
-Demand awesome attention for your Guest Speakers at conferences and meetings.
-First dances, audience and the band or whatever entertainment or ideas you have that need the limelight!
-Available as stationary camera and

     • Skype or webcast your wedding or event live to all your friends & relatives around the world.  Listen and see them on the projector screen and we can even pipe them into the PA if they want to do a speech.  $200-$600 depending on equipment & help needed - If you have already purchased our full Projector & Screen Package and our A/V Media & Sound Technician, the price would typically be around $275 in town which would include our high-end Canon camera, web distribution, audio mixing/connections and technical services.

     • Backdrop curtains (White or Black) for stages & presentation.  Contact for $ (Depending on heights and lengths).

    • Photographers & Videographers for internal company or private enjoyment - great for company promotions and personal keepsakes. media (website, FB, etc).  Sound man - mics announcements/conferences meetings, Background music, media & band help. DJ, Extra Bartender - qualified. 

     • Media – Videographers to professionally Record & Edit your event in HD Video, please inquire. Projectors (ex. power point). Wireless mics, great for MCs. Conferencing micing and audio recordings for documenting meetings.
